Ex-Eagles Star Benedict Akwuegbu Joins Mighty Jets Management

Former Super Eagles star Benedict Akwuegbu has been appointed on the management board of Nigeria National League side Mighty Jets.
Akwuegbu featured for Jets when he started out as a schoolboy sensation from the famous Saint Murumba College of Jos.
Capped by Nigeria at U17, U20 and full international levels, he will go on to play professionally in Belgium, Austria, China and Germany.
The stocky striker in his hey days who is an indigene of Mbaise nation in Imo State has at some point sort for an appointment into management of now relegated Heartland Football Club of Owerr between 2011 and 2012 and was along side other ex-internationals named as board members of the club by Governor Roachas Okorocha although they never functioned.
President of the club and former international Ismaila Mabo reconstituted the management board to have Alexander Noel Wukari as the chairman, while Salisu Isa Banco and Noel Aywila were made the first and second Vice-Chairmen respectively.
Nasiru Rabiu maintained his position as director of administration.
Other members of the new board are Bala Muhammed Brown, Ado Tale Maifata and John Barry.
    The appointments take immediate effect.
It will be recalled that not too long ago the president along with the board of founders dissolved the previous management team led by Godfrey Hamza.
Mighty Jets narrowly missed out on promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.
