The new season of the Nigeria National league NNL, may still be weeks away but the parallel principals apparently in charge of the relegated Heartland Football Club of Owerri on behalf of Imo state government who have been having running battle of who is truly in charge of the club may not be over yet.
The War over the true person in charge of the Owerri based Club which started shortly after the club was relegated to the NNC may have taken a different dimension as both camps have resorted to measures by which they can convince the government and the public including the club supporters of their superiority over each other.
Sports Ambassador recently gathered that where as the Imo state house of assembly deputy speaker, RT Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo (OZB) who was appointed supervisor of the club by the state governor, Rochas Okorocha has reportedly facilitated the payment of the clubs one of their outstanding salaries for the players and the staff, the club chairman, Hon Chibuzo Godfaith Etuenena (Bash) through the team manager has set to kick-off talent hunt of players next week.
According to further findings the payment of salaries may have given the IMHA deputy speaker an upper hand have accessed the fund which is on its own a strong point but source in high quarters also suggest that the close relationship that exists between the governor and the chairman may also be an age for victory especially with the links he reportedly have been able to establish abroad on behalf of the club which is said to be of notable interest to the governor to same cost.
