All is now set for the much awaited memorial football competition for the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo State this Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Sam Okwaraji Sports Complex, Orlu.
The competition which is powered by Chief Okey Eze, a former Guber aspirant in the State under APGA in 2015 to immortalize the late legendary Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji who died in active service for the nation in a world cup qualifying game against Angola will aim at trying to discover more of Okwaraji’s as well as giving honour to whom its due.
In a release signed by the Local Organizing Committee LOC, the opening ceremony will be preceded by a Church Service at the family compound of the Okwaraji’s in Umudioka, Orlu LGA.
Highlight of the opening ceremony will be a guard of honour mounted by all the 27 LGA teams which will be inspected by the Mother of the Late Sam Okwaraji.
Meanwhile, Sports Ambassador gathered that former team mates of late Okwaraji and other ex-internationals are billed to storm Samkwaraji sports Complex, Orlu for the opening ceremony among many other dignities including the chief sponsor and Okwaraji’s mother
Some of the big ex-internationals expected at the event include; Etim Esin, Bright Omokaro, Samson Siasia, Augustine Eguavoen, Emeka Ezeugo, and many others while ‘Charly Boy’ is also expected to grace the event.
