Nigerian football legend Nwankwo Kanu has announced burial plans of his mother, late Susan Nwanneiya Kanu Iheme
The funeral is slated between 2nd and 3rd of December
Service of songs and wake keeping s slated for Friday 2nd of December at her residence while December 3rd will witness her funeral services at the Presbyterian church of Nigeria in Amnnagwu-Arochukwu and reception at Aggrey primary school ground and family residence
This was disclosed at a press parley held yesterday at Kanu Heart foundation office in Lagos
According to the head of the foundation, pastor Onyebuchi Abia, who doubles as the chairman, Burial committee, plans are underway to give deceased a benefitting burial, owing to the instrumental role she played in the footballer’s rise to stardom
“You know Mama  played an important role in Kanu’s (Nwankwo) life she believed in him and often called him ‘Onyinyechi which means gift of God before Success came
“Hence a grand burial; and a befitting one for that matter is what Nwankwo Kanu wants for his mother he revealed to sporting sun
And in a show of solidarity, the entire South East Governors , alongside the Deputy Senate President, senator Ike Ekweremadu and Senator Hope Nzorima have not only sent their condolence but have also vowed to supporting the ex-footballer in giving a befitting burial to his mother.
Meanwhile the burial of the mother of Orji Sampson Nwaokike, Editor Trumpeta Newspaper has been slated for Saturday November 19, 2016 at her compound Ezi-ndi-Ukpabi, Ugbo village in Arochukwu LGA, Abia State.
