Cambodia-based Harrison Chinedu at the weekend set another Guinness World Record when he rode his bicycle with the ball balanced on his head from Eleko Beach in Ibeju-Lekki through Ajah.
The journey continued to Lekki phases one and two, OzumbaMbadiwe Street, Victoria Island Lagos, passing through Costain and terminating at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos in a distance of 103.621 kilometer.
This feat came seven months after he achieved the feat as the man to have travelled the fastest distance with a ball balanced on his head.Harrison disclosed to journalists that his decision to embark on another history making event was to venture into other areas, which nobody has done since the record he set on March 6, 2016 has been broken.
He said, “I decided to embark on the race because of my desire to see Nigeria’s name appear more often in the Guineas Book of World Records. This is more so since my record of balancing the ball on the head while walking has been broken.”
Event coordinator, Effiong Nyong, commended the sponsors, Bet9ja, for their belief in Chinedu’s talent, adding that other corporate companies should emulate the sponsor by encouraging other Nigerian youths to showcase their talents.
“I am particularly happy with what Harrison has done today. This is the first time anybody has rode a bicycle balancing the ball on his head and kudos must go to this young Nigerian for putting the country’s name in the world map.
“It is also important to commend the sponsors who believed in the talents of this young man and decided to invest in him,” Nyong staed.
Representatives of bet9ja explained that the firm sponsored the event because of their belief in Chinedu and that because he was equal to the task. He however pledged that they will continue to assist him.
