    Ndegwu Community Agog For Ishiuba Unity Cup

    The 2016 Ishiuba Unity Football Competition for all the five (5) villages that make up Ndegwu community in Owerri West LGA Kicked-off last Saturday at Ndegwu community primary school field.
    The opening ceremony which was declared open by the donor of trophy Hon, Ojirinaka Ishiuba, former Owerri zone Federal House of Representative who contestant under UPP during the 2015 general election had a mammoth crowd in attendance with personalities from all walks of life.
    In his remark shortly before the opening game between Umuahum and Umuezu, chief Ojinnaka assured the youths of the area of his readiness to always support every project that will help to promote their empowerment which according to him includes facilitation of any discovered football talent to clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League and abroad.
    Chief Ojinnaka further stressed that apart from the normal 1st,2nd and 3rd prize monies, he has mapped out some fund for other teams as consolation prizes to encourage the players pointing out that if properly harnessed, football scouts and managers including coaches can get the next Kanu Nwankwo  and Iheanacho’s in Ndegwu.
    The teams include Umuahum, Umuezu, Umuogwuta, Umuomara and Umuekerepku and the remaining matches will be every Saturday and Sunday of every weekend.
