The 2016 Unity Football C o m pet it i o n sponsored by the Imo State Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations Hon. (Engr.) Kingsley Chima, for youths in the oil producing Areas of Ohaji/ Egbema and Oguta LGAs commenced amidst jubilation.
The competition started last Sunday, 1 8 th December,2016 at the Community Primary School Mgbara, Egbema Ohaji Egbema L G A with a mammoth crowd that were thrilled to a fascinating football match.
The kick off was between Egbema ward A and Oru ward in Oguta.
Declaring the competition open, Kingsley Uju told the excited youths that the essence of the competition is to help recreate and empower the youths. He said that the competition is more like a talent hunt and part of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s amnesty program aimed at encouraging the youths busy as well as showcasing their strength and abilities positively, rather militancy.
The Chief sponsor enjoined them to put in their best, while promising that the best teams will be rewarded with prizes but will also make up the team they are forming to join the Nigerian League soon from the oil region, pointing out that it is an accademy extended to the world.
“You are meeting the best that can guarantee your future. If Iheanacho, Moses, Mikel can make it. You can make it as well. What you need is to explore the world and this competition has afforded you all the opportunity “Kingsley Uju said.
