It was a beehive of activities and a sight to behold penultimate Tuesday, as the people of Nzerem Clan in Ehime Mbano L.G.A rolled out drums and cymbals to heralded the arrival of Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, Member Representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja who alongside his entourage, which included a team of Medical Consultants were at Isinkwo Health Centre premises, beside Isinkwo Primary School, Dioka Nzerem, Ehime Mbano to flag off a 2 Day Special Free Medical Outreach Programme for the people of Nzerem clan.
The outreach was specifically designed to carter for the people of Dioka Nzerem enclave, who could not participate during the already concluded week Deacon Chike Okafor Free Medical Outreach Programme f o r Okigwe South Federal Constituency, due to the inaccessible nature of their abode whose poor topography inhibited free movement of people and vehicle at the raining season when the initial Outreach held.,
This is happening shortly after a successful ‘week Free Medical Outreach Programme facilitated by Deacon Okafor, the Member Representing Okigwe Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, where over one thousand (1,000) surgical operations were carried out during the period at various referral centres of the Outreach, especially the IMSUTH Referral Maternal Centre, Alike Obowo.
Meanw hile, the te,w eek Free Medical Outreach which was flagged off on 17,h October, 2016 at Ehime Mbano Council Area successfully rotated among the three Council Areas of Ehime Mbano, Obowo and Ihitte Uboma, where Five Health Centres were identified per Council Area as designated Outreach Centres where the medical team attended to those that thronged in their thousands for health care need.
However, it could be recalled that during the one-week long exercise, there was a special arrangement worked out by the facilitator of the programme, Deacon Okafor who thought it wise to organize Special Outreach Programme for inaccessible Communities of Dioka Nzerem after the intial programme would have been concluded and that informed the prompt and timely post Outreach each flag off of another 2-Day Special Outreach for the people of Nzerem clan.
In his remark on the occasion of the flag off of the 2-Day Special Free Medical Outreach Programme the Member Representing Okigwe South in The Federal House of Representatives and Chairman House Committee on Health, Deacon Chike John Okafoi reminded the people of Dioka Nzerem how he decided during the 2015 electioneering campaign to tour the 31 Autonomous Communities in the Area as well as the political wards, simply because of his intentions to use the opportunity that would be thrown up in the course of the visit to access the level of ecological degradation and under Development of the area Which Was virtualIy neglected by successive administrations.

Deacon Chike Okafor revealed to the highly excited audience that the decision to bring the health care service provided through his Free Medical Outreach to their door steps was because of the strong relationship that has existed between him and them which manifested with the type of vote he garnered from the area during the elections and also because a passionate case was made on then behalf by one of their illustrious sons, Dr Chikwendu who was among the team of Medical Consultants that volunteered their services in the Medical Outreach Programme.
He told them that there was an initial arrangement to provide buses that would have conveyed them to Out Reach Centres during the week programme but after a cursory look at their predicament occasioned by bad load network, their case became so pathetic that made him plead with the Medical team to design a Special Outreach Programme to assist one of their colleagues, Chikwendu whose people could not i feature in the initial programme because of the poor topography of the Area.
According to him, the Special Outreach bi ought to their doorstep would herald a new 1 beginning in the life of their Community whose problem will definitely be looked into under the present administration.
He assured the people of the Area that as they avail themselves the opportunity offered them through the outreach for better health care tl which will be provided by a team of specially d selected Medical Consultants that abundant prosperity shall begin to unfold in their area since a healthy society is bound to be prosperous, peaceful and happy.
He further conveyed the goodwill message of the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his wife Nkechi who according to him were aware of his presence in their clan, adding that on return to Owerri, he would Brief the Governor of their problems.
While flagging off the programme, Deacon Chike Okafor’charged Prince Henry Ogoke, Former Chairman, Ehime Mbano Council Area to form a committee of five persons who will be charged with the responsibility of facilitating the movement of the post outreach referral cases to the designated Tertiary Health Institution at Alike Obowo menat for that purpose, assuring them that funds shall be made available to ensure that those concerned would receive adequate attention they deserve. He thanked God for safeguarding the lives of beneficiaries as no loss has been recorded since the commecement of the programme.
Earlier in his opening remark, the co-ordinator of the Medical Team of the Outreach programme Dr. Mazi Ejikem thanked the people of Dioka Nzerem for turning out enmass to enjoy opportunity offered through Outreach programme .

The Chairman of All Progressives Congress” (APC) in Ehime Mbano Council. Chief Emma Buka Iwuanyanwu in his remark congratulated Deacon Okafor for being a Worthy Ambassador of Okigwe-South people whom he has shown commitment and selflessness to. in the cause of his duties. He observed that Deacon Chike Okafor was unique in his own approach in representing the people having done everything possible m fulfill his campaign promises and called on the people to continue to give him support through prayers.
He eulogized an illustrious son of the area Dr. Chikwendu whom he described as a good man reminded the people that any child that does well in his examination deserves promotion and on that note, called for political promotions of Deacon Chike Okafor fordoint very well as a House of Representatives Member.
In their separate remarks, two prominent sons of the area, Dr. Chikwendu and Prince Henry Ogoke (former T.C Chairman Ehime Mbano EGA), thanked Deacon Okafor for fulfilling his campaign promises which according to them were sacrosanct to them from the onset because they knew of his antecedents as a reliable, godly and honest man who works with God. They assured him of the continued support of their people in future elections.
The outreach was formally flagged off by the Federal Law Maker himself who prayed God to grant the medical team the divine ministration to do well in the exercise w ell as perfect healing for beneficiaries.
Over two thousand indigenes of the area thronged out at the venue of the exercise to enjoy the free medical outreach billed to last for two days.
